It’s that time of year again. And I’m not talking about Christmas or New Year’s Eve – I’m talking about the time of year that most women dread. Time to make the appointment for the annual mammogram. One of my friends told me, “Aw, it’s not so bad anymore.” I’m not sure what she was referring to, because in my opinion, it’s always been unpleasant.
Now please note I am not commenting about the staff that works this dreaded machinery. The technicians are friendly and professional, and thanks to that, the short time that it does take to do the procedure goes by even more quickly, and I am always very thankful for that. However, no matter how brief the encounter is made, it is still very awkward and painful, or at least it is for me.
I wasn’t going to write about this, but someone who plays for the other team suggested it might be a good idea for guys to have an idea of what their wives, sisters and moms have to endure when they go on one of these adventures. So if the idea makes you a bit squeamish, you might want to take a break right now and get something in your stomach before reading more.
