Patricia K. Thompson, 81, Stevens Point, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. James Logan officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a general rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (O’Conner) Dineen. She attended St. Stephen Grade School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1949. After graduation she was employed at St. Michael’s Hospital and then the Portage County Welfare Department, which included the Veterans Service Office.
She was married to John “Jack” Thompson on Sept. 26, 1953.
She returned to the workforce and worked for the state of Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor & Human Relations, retiring in 1974.
She volunteered as an Eucharistic minister at St. Stephen Catholic Church taking communion to the homebound. She also did volunteer work for RSVP, the Motor Vehicle Department and various other organizations.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judy Thompson and Mary (Bill) Higgins; five sons, Jerry (Christine), Michael (Kathy), Mark (Darlene), Kenneth (Kristine) and Richard (Yvonne); 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James; and four brothers, John, Charles, Bernard and Thomas.
