Tuscan Road, a Stevens Point-based country/rock band, will perform its Point 2012 End of World show starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Rookies Sports Pub in Stevens Point.
The show’s name honors the black ale of the band’s sponsor – the Stevens Point Brewery – and the idea that the Mayan calendar has predicted Dec. 21 as the end of the world.
“We’d like to think that every time you come to a Tuscan Road show, you’re coming to party like it’s the end of the world,” said Kevin Moore, the band’s lead singer. “So it works out well that it just happens to be the actual end of the world, maybe, on the 21st.”
Variety-rock band Consult the Briefcase will open the show, which has a $5 cover charge.
Moore said Tuscan Road plans to play for about three hours, with the show scheduled to end at 1 a.m. “It’s a party atmosphere. It’s a good time to go out and have fun,” said Moore.
