Cora Mae Harer, 92, The Dalles, Ore., a Stevens Point native, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.
Ashes will be placed at the gravesite in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point, with a private graveside service this summer.
Gifts in her name may be given to Gateway Presbyterian Church, 1111 Dry Hollow Road, The Dalles OR 97058.
Mrs. Harer was born June 8, 1919, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Morris and Julia Anderson. She graduated from Wisconsin State University in Stevens Point in 1941. She also acquired a degree from Wisconsin State University in Eau Claire as a teacher of special education.
She taught for 30 years, including in Nekoosa from 1961 to 1976. She retired in 1976.
She was married to Dr. Charles Harer for 17 years and spent most of that time in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. He preceded her in death.
She moved to The Dalles, Ore., in 1995.
She was a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four sons, William T. Mailer, Willow, Alaska, John A. Murat, Pooler, Ga., Michael C. Murat, The Dalles, Ore., and Steven P. Murat, Bethel, Alaska; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Walch and Dorothy Gilbert; and two brothers, Ralph J. Anderson and Morris P. Anderson.
