Leonard J. Gilman, 85, a former Stevens Point resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the services.

Mr. Gilman was born March 29, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., a son of the late Chester and Magdeline (Slowinski) Gilman. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point in 1944.
He entered the U.S. Army on June 23, 1945, serving as a sergeant in the infantry until November 1946.
He was married to Grace Randecker on June 18, 1949, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa.
He was employed by Gross Brothers Trucking from 1947 to 1952 and C.W. Trucking from 1952 to 1979. He also was the owner/operator of Moore Barn Bar for a short time and Gilman’s Indian Hills Egg Ranch, now Gilman’s Storage, from 1969 to 1993.
He was a former charter member of the Grand Rapids Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan (Rita), Tim and David (Julie) Gilman; and one sister, Beatrice Stranen.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Chester; and one sister, Kay Bergman.
