John William “Jack” Low, 90, Stevens Point, a retired Sentry Insurance executive, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home.
No service will be held.
Memorials in his name should be given to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service or the Salvation Army.

Mr. Low was born Nov. 4, 1922, in High Ridge, Mo., a son of the late Ella (Wielt) and the Rev. George Low. The family moved to Sigourney, Iowa, and then Duluth, Minn. He spent his grade school years in Duluth. As a senior in high school, he was nominated to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1940. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. and North Africa. He was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant.
He was married to Lois Wargin in 1941. She preceded him in death.
After their marriage, they moved to Chicago, Ill., where he attended the University of Chicago and received a bachelor of science degree in meteorology and a master of business administration degree.
After graduation, he joined Hardware Mutual Insurance Company, now Sentry Insurance. He worked in underwriting and sales and was instrumental in developing Sentry Life Insurance. He retired as a senior accounts executive.
They retired to the southwest, living in Utah and Nevada. They returned to Stevens Point in later years.
Survivors include one son, John (Chris), Mosinee; three daughters, Susan (Bob) Low and Laurie Low, both of Stevens Point, and Christine (Bill) McKee, Amherst; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson.
