George E. Donovan Jr., 78, Lodi, husband of a Portage County native, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, at First Lutheran Church in Lodi, with the Rev. Michael Lee officiating.
Visitation was at the church Saturday, Dec. 1.

Mr. Donovan was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Elcho, a son of the late Bertha (Brede) and George Donovan Sr.
He was married to Mary Ann Sopa, a town of Buena Vista and Fancher native, on June 29, 1955.
He worked as a crane operator in the Madison area until his retirement in 1994.
Survivors include his wife and six children, all of the greater Madison area. Survivors in Portage County include one granddaughter, Becky (Derek J.) Konkol, Amherst; one great grandson, Tucker Konkol, Amherst; one brother-in-law, Charles (Janice) Sopa Jr., Amherst; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Rhody) Studinski, Stevens Point, and Bernice (Steve) Haka, Plover.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Long.
