Benedict Quella, 83, a former Bancroft resident, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Sylvan Crossing in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Almond, with the Rev. Hector Moreno officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.

Mr. Quella was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Appleton, a son of the late Edward and Cornelia (Stommel) Quella. He graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha.
He began working for the telephone company briefly before entering the U.S. Army in 1948 in the Signal Corps. He was discharged in 1952.
He returned to the telephone company in Appleton.
He was married to Catherine Will on Nov. 21, 1953, in Appleton. She died in 2010.
The couple moved to Plover in 1970 and lived in Stevens Point briefly before moving to Bancroft in 1987. He retired after 38 years with the telephone company in 1986.
He was a past member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Elks, Lions and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include four sons, Tony (Debra), Stevens Point, Mark (Judy Benford) and Peter Quella, both of Boston, Mass., and Tim (Beth), Bancroft; one daughter, Sara (Tony Brummel) Quella, Middleton; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard and David.
