Mr. Glisczinski was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Custer, a son of the late David and Teckla (Yach) Glisczinski. He attended local schools.
He worked on the family farm for a few years before beginning work at Regina Pliska Potato Farms for 19 years and then Vetter’s Manufacturing for 40 years.
He was known in Stevens Point and Plover as the “Can Man,” as the guy on the three-wheel bicycle who traveled an average of five to 10 miles a day collecting aluminum cans from a number of places, especially local ball parks. Since retiring from Vetter’s, his goal has been to see how many cans he could collect in a day.
Survivors include one sister, Grace Shaw; and nephews and nieces.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
