For the first time in school history, the Rosholt High School football team is going to the WIAA Level 3 Playoffs.
The third-seeded Hornets (8-2, 5-1) jumped out to a 16-6 lead at halftime on seventh-seeded Pacelli (5-5, 3-4), and then withstood a late rally to win 22-14 in a Division 6 Level 2 Playoff Game at Community Stadium at Goerke Field on Friday, Oct. 26.
The win sent Rosholt to the Level 3 Playoffs, where it will play at third-ranked and top-seeded Edgar (10-0) at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, with a berth in the State Semifinals on the line.
“Rosholt’s never won two playoff games in the same season, and I really can’t explain my emotions right now,” said Rosholt senior running back/defensive back Owen Neff. “This is unbelievable.”
