Johanna Szymkowiak, 99, Stevens Point, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Harmony Commons Assisted Living in Stevens Point, while under the care of Ministry Health Care-Hospice Services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation was scheduled to be held at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a general rosary at 6:30 p.m., and at the funeral home from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Mrs. Szymkowiak was born July 10, 1913, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Catherine (Wroblewski) Bemowski.
She was married to John Szymkowiak on Sept. 5, 1938, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died in 1999.
She worked at Normington’s Laundry and then the Portage County Health Care Center until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy (Merlin) Duellman, Winona, Minn.; one sister, Mary (Robert) Feltz, Hancock; one brother, Theodore Szymkowiak, Lake Elsinore, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, William; eight brothers, Benedict, Bernard, Florian, Gregory, Henry, John, Roman and Stanley; five sisters, Theresa Bushey, Grace Novak, Bernice Trader, Lucille Clary and Sister Joselda Bemowski.
