Edward J. Pierce, 87, Port Edwards, a town of Linwood native, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Pierce was born Oct. 13, 1925, in the town of Linwood, a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kubowski) Piorkowski.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He was married to June E. Nieman on Nov. 20, 1950, in Stevens Point.
He was a civil engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 31 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rudolph.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jeffrey (Mary Ellen), Dodgeville; one daughter, Marsha Kay (Russell) Draeger, Marshfield; one brother, Bob (Barb) Beckis, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Jeanette Hoffman, Port Edwards, and Irene Fritsche, Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters.
