Dr. John W. Lehman, 97, Stevens Point, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at his home, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A private family service was held.
A memorial will be established at a later date.

Dr. Lehman was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Dr. John and Mathilda Lehman. His family moved to Edgar when he was a child. He graduated from Edgar High School, attended Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, Ill.
He was married to Ethel Piehl on July 28, 1942.
He joined the Army Dental Corps in 1956, serving in Okinawa, Germany, Vietnam and various posts in the U.S. He retired to Stevens Point in 1974.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John (Carol), Dayton, Ohio, and Tom (Sherry), Cary, N.C.; and three daughters, Janice (Louis) Napoli, Lyman, Wyo., Mary Iarussi (Michael Podurgal), St. Robert, Mo., and Cecily Lehman (Steven Georgeff), Madison; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
