Evelyn Ann Konkel, 89, Neenah, a town of Amherst native, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Theda Care Hospice Residence following a brief illness.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Martin Luther Church in Neenah, with the Revs. Jason Oakland and Richard I. Krahn II officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah.
Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. Monday until the service.

Mrs. Konkel was born Feb. 18, 1923, in the town of Amherst, a daughter of the late Edward and Hattie (Strauss) Lutz. She graduated from Amherst High School and then the county Normal School and later took courses at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
She taught at schools in Boulder Junction, Amherst and Neenah.
She was married to Ernest Konkel on Nov. 24, 1943. He died Jan. 31, 1993.
She was a charter member of Martin Luther Church in Neenah.
Survivors include one brother, Edward (Helen) Lutz, Amherst Junction; and one sister, Lorraine Price, Santa Barbara, Calif.
