Hunter safety courses have seen a change in the enrollment of participants over the last couple years. Previously, hunting and the safety courses that accompany it have been a male dominated hobby. However, course leaders have seen a change.
“I have seen over the last two to three years a large number of ladies taking hunter safety classes,” said hunter safety instructor Joe Lacenski, who has been teaching the courses for eight years. “The October class has 18 ladies of all ages and only six men of all ages enrolled.
“That seems to be a growing trend,” he said.
