Edwin Chester Zimbelman, 92, village of Lake Hallie near Chippewa Falls, father of a Plover woman, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Maple Ridge Memory Care in Plover while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Zimbelman was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Fairfax, S.D., a son of the late Sophia (Ulmer) and William Zimbelman.
He served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 28, 1943, until being honorably discharged on Oct. 24, 1944.
He was married to Marjorie Alice Reid on Feb. 29, 1944, in Menomonie. She died on March 19, 2012.
They resided in Chippewa Falls.
He worked for Indianhead Trucking as a driver, then as a driver for American Materials until he retired.
He ran a hobby farm, gas station and a sports shop.
Survivors include one daughter, Jill (Thomas) Schaefer, Plover; one son, Gary, Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Martha Carter, Esther Schmidt, Louise Dunkak, Helen Stoltenberg and Edna Vosika; and five brothers, Walter, Bill, Otto, Carl and Paul Zimbelman.
