Gertrude M. Bruening, 95, Milladore, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore, with the Rev. John Ofori-Domah officiating.
Visitations will be at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bruening was born in the town of Greenville in Outagamie County, a daughter of the late Michael L. and Cecelia (Thompson) Woods. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and graduated from Appleton High School in 1937.
She was married to Bernard H. Bruening on Oct. 5, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton. He died on Aug. 8, 2011.
Survivors include one son, William (Jennifer), Mosinee; two daughters, Mary (Darnell) Tyjeski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Anne (Joseph) Levendoski, New Berlin; one brother, James (Patricia) Woods, New London; four sisters, Helen Calmes, Appleton, Joan (Larry) Gitter, Wisconsin Rapids, Alice (Richard) Van Handel, Appleton, and Catherine (Richard) Seidler, Greenville; and eight grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Earl and John Woods and two in infancy; and three sisters, Agnes in infancy, Mary Reichle and Margaret Jenkel.
