Catherine F. Stelchek, 81, Stevens Point, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. A general rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Stelchek was born June 3, 1931, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Adam and Theresa (Rinka) Shafranski. She attended St. Peter School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1949.
She was married to Richard Stelchek on June 26, 1954, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull. He died on Sept. 27, 1975.
She was a homemaker and worked numerous secretarial jobs at Hardware Mutual, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, St. Michael’s Hospital, Kaiser Eye Care, and as a school lunch aid at St. Stanislaus Elementary School.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Mary), Stevens Point; four daughters, Karen Stelchek, Wausau, Roxanne (Mark) Korger and Joan Lukas, both of Stevens Point, and Laura (James) Gilbert, Pardeeville; three brothers, Donald (Lucille) Shafranski, Milwaukee, and David (Gladys) Shafranski and Roy Shafranski, both of Stevens Point; three sisters, Joan Ross, Stevens Point, Carol Kubisiak, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mary Ann (Joseph) Weisbrod, Rosholt; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Greg and Clifford; and one grandson.
