Jerome ‘Jerry’ Zinda, 64, Elberton, Ga., a former Stevens Point resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the Georgia Health Science University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 16, at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home in Elberton, Ga.

Mr. Zinda was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Stevens Point, a son of Esther (Wanta) Zinda and the late Albert Zinda. He attended St. Peter Catholic School and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1966.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving in Alaska for three years.
He was married to Rebecca Lynn McKoon 34 years ago.
He was employed at Foremost Foods before moving to Arizona to work as a quality control manager for Crystal Bottle Works.
He and his wife owned and operated of the Lazy L Hunting and Fishing Lodge in Elberton, Ga. They retired in 2008.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Lyshoj, Greenwood, S.C., and Kathryn Ingram, Hartwell, Ga.; one son, Staff Sgt. Staso (Amber), Fort Riley, Kan.; his mother; two brothers, James (Connie), Stevens Point, and Louie (Christine), Custer; three sisters, Judith (Clarence) Blaskowski, Wausau, Cathy (Leonard) Guzman, Junction City, and Patricia (Paul) Schultz, Spottsylvania, Va.; and four grandchildren.
