Michael Benjamin Bohringer, 63, Rudolph, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Wm. S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital in Madison.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with his sister, the Rev. Rachel Bohringer, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Central Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation was scheduled to be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the services.
Mr. Bohringer was born May 18, 1949, in Lancaster, a son of the late Grant and Florine (King) Bohringer.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972, serving two tours in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation and a Purple Heart. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 115.
He was married to Barbara Wolden in Lancaster in 1995.
They started a craft business, attending craft shows throughout Wisconsin and selling woodcrafts through their website for more than 15 years. Their business, Sundance Designs, was named after his dog.
Survivors include his wife; his foster mother, Gloria Jones, Platteville; one stepson, Brian (Kathy) Wolden, Nekoosa; one stepdaughter, Amy (Shane) Scheel, Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Rachel Bohringer, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Sammy Bohringer, Oconomowoc, and Joel Bohringer, Germantown; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Abigail, Dinah, Ruthie and Shoshanah; and one brother, David.
