Fundraising efforts for new playground equipment for the south side Veteran’s Memorial Park in Stevens Point will continue Saturday, Sept. 15, with an event held at the park.
The Southside Park Fundraiser, sponsored by Berens-Scribner American Legion Post 6 and Big Hunchies Roadhouse, will be held from noon to 11 p.m. and will include food and drinks, a bake sale, raffles, kid’s games, a dunk tank and live music. Admission is free.
Austin Healy Band, a five-piece country/country-rock variety band from Stevens Point, will perform starting at 7 p.m.
“There’s a lot of kids over here with no place to go, no place to play,” said Barb Jacob, Big Hunchies owner and event organizer. “People should come to help support the community and to have fun.”
