Lempi M. Saari, 93, Plover, formerly of Montreal, Wis., died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Crystal Fountains Assisted Living Whispering Pines in Plover.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood, Mich., with Pastor Peggy Rose officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the service.

Mrs. Saari was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Montreal, Wis., a daughter of the late Frank and Ada (Ojapelto) Laihinen. She attended Montreal and Hurley schools. She graduated from the Lincoln High School in 1936. She also attended Woodward Business College.
Prior to her marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper for Vince Calvi at the Twin City Dairy.
She was married to Bert O. Saari on Oct. 16, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood, Mich. He died on July 6, 2006.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood, Mich.; Hurley Lionettes; Order of the Eastern Star; and Oma Women’s Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane (Robert) Pisani, Ironwood, Mich., Doris (Barry) Hautala, Plover, Marilyn (Gary) Gotta, Hurley, and Joanne (Mark) Gotta, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Oiva.
