The village of Amherst will offer a number of activities Friday through Sunday, Sept. 7-9, including the third annual Celebrate Amherst River Fest (CARF), The Living Local Fall Festival (LLFF) and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mill Street Bridge.
The weekend will start off with the LLFF starting Friday, Sept. 7 at the Amherst Fairgrounds. The three-day expo, sponsored by the Golden Sands Home Builder Association (GSHBA), will kick off at 6 p.m. with The Jerry Schmitt Band. The event is free and open to the public. Food, drink and local brews will be available for purchase at this time.
“Every year the GSHBA puts on a home show, but since the house market is a little soft right now we thought it would be great to have another way for people to expose their businesses,” said Richard Mead of Point Heating and Cooling, event coordinator.
