The high school football season will open this weekend, with area teams in action on both Friday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25.
Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) will play at home on Friday, while Amherst, Rosholt and Almond-Bancroft high schools will take to the road on Friday night.
Pacelli High School will then travel to face La Crosse Aquinas on Saturday night, to conclude the first week of an eight-game regular season.
