Ernest “Ernie” Skupniewicz, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, following a battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull, with the Rev. Joseph Arul officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Monday.
A memorial has been made in his name to St. Casimir Catholic Church.

Mr. Skupniewicz was born Nov. 30, 1932, a son of the late Matt and Frances (Burant) Skupniewicz.
He was married to Darlene Wisz on Aug. 22, 1964, at St. John the Baptist Church in Peplin.
He retired in 1996, after many years at the Mosinee-Wausau Paper Mill.
After retirement, he continued to farm and care for the family homestead that he helped his parents establish.
He was a director at R.E.A. Rural Electric Coop of Iola for 20 years and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a lifetime member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull.
Survivors include his wife; one brother, Dr. Raymond, Racine; one sister, Genevieve “Jean” Shuda, Stevens Point; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Dorothy; and one brother, James.
