James A. “Jim” Kessler, 62, a resident at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King and the brother of a Rosholt woman, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, following a 2-1/2-year battle with cancer.
Private family services with full military honors were held.

Mr. Kessler was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Wisconsin Rapids, a son of the late Donald and Dolores (Anderson) Kessler.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Survivors include one son, Todd (Paula), Plainfield; two sisters, Jean (Greg) Esker, Rosholt, and Linda Kessler, Nekoosa; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sue.
