Donald Robert Sabota, 74, Rhinelander, brother of a Plover woman, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nativity of Our Lord-St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhinelander, with Deacon Dick Meier officiating.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service.

Mr. Sabota was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Wisconsin Rapids, a son of the late Robert and Kathryn (Harrer) Sabota.
He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 5, 1955, to Jan. 11, 1958.
He was married to Nancy Kontney on April 29, 1961.
He worked at Consolidated Papers for 38 years, retiring in 1998.
He was on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin River Credit Union for 23 years, was a member of Bill’s Musky Club for 25 years, and was a guide for 10 years for the World Musky Hunt and for 10 years with C&R Guide Service.
Mr. Sabota was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rhinelander and was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ken (Kathy), St. Paul, Minn.; one sister, Janice (Dan) Schulfer, Plover; and two grandchildren.
