This week, one of the world’s largest soccer goalkeeper camps in the world is being held in Stevens Point.
“Camp Shutout,” which has 220 participants from throughout the country, opened on Sunday, July 22, and will run through Saturday, July 28, at the Portage County Youth Soccer (PCYS) Fields.
Marquette University assistant coach Stan Anderson has run the camp in the Milwaukee area since 1989, but this year decided to move it to Stevens Point.
“I’ve been coming to Stevens Point for the last six years for smaller camps I run,” said Anderson. “And I’ve begun to grow a great relationship with the people at PCYS.”
