William “Bill” Mingenbach, 84, Taos, N.M., formerly of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, as a result of complications from melanoma.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, in Taos, N.M.
Mr. Mingenbach was born June 3, 1928, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Louise (Jacobs) and Leo Mingenbach. He received a bachelor of arts degree in art history and physics from Williams College in Massachusetts and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota.
He served as a second lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve from 1952 to 1956, piloting F-89s.
Mr. Mingenbach and his wife, Jane, moved to Taos, N.M., shortly after honeymooning there.
With partners, he started the first architectural firm in Taos, N.M., in 1964.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Leah (Jonathon) Slator and Emily (Charles Henry) Mingenbach-Henry; three sons, Louise (Chris Caris), Erich and Jacob; and eight grandchildren.
