Georgia G. “Gigi” Bennett, 89, mother of a Plover woman, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at North Central Health Care Center in Wausau.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home in Plover. Her ashes will be spread over her favorite beach destination at a later date.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the sservices.

Mrs. Bennett was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Chuckey, Tenn., a daughter of the late Sydney and Agnes (Grey) Waddell.
She was married to the late Ivan Bennett.
She was a World War II veteran.
She had careers in nursing and cosmetology.
Though she retired early in life, she stayed active with various volunteer opportunities within her community.
Survivors include one daughter, Toni Swinderman, Plover; one sister, Lois Alexander, Chuckey, Tenn.; two brothers, E.C. “Jack” Waddell and Mack Waddell, both of Tennessee; two granddaughters; one stepgrandchild; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, two brothers and one son-in-law.
