Just like the first time the two rivals met earlier this season, the Stevens Point Sixers Legion baseball team seemed to be in control of the Plover Black Sox late in its game on Tuesday, July 17.
After Plover rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the eighth inning to beat Point 8-7 in 10 innings at home on June 26, the top-ranked Black Sox (23-2, 9-0) again trailed the 10th-ranked Sixers (15-6, 4-5) 6-2 heading into the top of the eighth inning at Bukolt Park on Tuesday night.
There, Plover rallied for five runs to take a 7-6 lead, and then broke a 7-7 tie with five more runs in the top of the ninth to pull out a 12-7 victory and claim its fifth consecutive Wisconsin Valley Legion League (WVLL) Title outright.
