This year marks the 100-year anniversary of service for the Bancroft State Bank in Bancroft. The bank has never closed its doors since opening in 1912, weathering a Great Depression and three robberies.
“Surviving 100 years wasn’t always fun, a lot of times it was hard,” said Jill Kollock, bank president. “People wouldn’t pay during the depression but the bank was kept open all of the time; even if business couldn’t be done, we were here.”
