Noel G. Petersen, 82, Stevens Point, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at his home.
A private family service was held.

Mr. Petersen was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Ludington, Mich., a son of the late Johannes Edgar and Leona Blanche (Hill) Petersen.
He served in the U.S. Army from September 1950 to February 1954, serving as a second lieutenant.
Upon completing his military service, he moved to California for law school, returning to Michigan where he served as the district attorney for Calhoun County for many years.
He moved to the Stevens Point area in 1994.
Survivors include one brother, Keith, South Milwaukee; one sister, Edrid “Diane” (Charles) Smith, Pentwater, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
