The Portage County Fair of Amherst will be held Thursday through Sunday, July 19-22, at the Amherst Fairgrounds.
“We try to cater to a diverse group,” said Tim Pederson, Fair Board president. “We have a lot for people to see out here and a lot to do.”
The fair includes animal judging and displays, commercial and vendor exhibits, 4-H displays, a carnival, food, Ag Olympics, tractor and truck pulls, a demolition derby, a cake auction, and live music and entertainment. “We make it more than a carnival; we make it a fair.”
