Hubert “Herb” Zick, 70, Shantytown, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, as a result of complications from surgery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.

Mr. Zick was born July 22, 1941, in Bevent, a son of Zenen and Mary (Klinger) Zick. He graduated from Rosholt High School in 1959 and began his career in construction, working with various firms.
He was married to Carol Rutkowski on June 20, 1964 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Ellis.
In 1977 he founded Zick Construction and operated the business until his retirement in 2003.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Russell (Wendy Petersen), Portage; one daughter, Kellee (Greg) Flak, Wittenberg; one brother, Andrew (Mary Jane), Rosholt; one sister, Bernadette (Norbert) Wierzba, Rosholt; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Norbert.
