2012 marks Sentry Insurance’s centennial year in Stevens Point. It’s also Dale Schuh’s 40th year with the company. This past February, Schuh stepped aside as chief executive officer, relinquishing the position to Peter McPartland. He continues as company chair, though.
When Schuh sits down for a 90-minute interview with The Gazette, he is in the process of moving from his fourth floor office at Sentry headquarters to the company’s downtown Strongs Avenue building, where he occupies the office of former company leaders, including Carl Jacobs and John Joanis. Sentry moved its headquarters into its North Point Drive building in 1976.
Editor’s note: Dale Schuh is not related to the author of the article, Jim Schuh, who worked for Sentry for 18 years – from 1968 to 1986 – when the company was in several businesses besides insurance, including broadcasting.
