Mabel M. Cherney, 85, Schofield, formerly of Mosinee and Milladore, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Kennedy Park Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Schofield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City, with Pastor Thomas Graves officiating. Burial will be in Runkel Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Visitation was scheduled to be held at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. Friday until the services.

Mrs. Cherney was born on Feb. 2, 1927, in Portage County, a daughter of the late Otto and Mary Johnson.
She was married to Leonard F. Cherney on Sept. 25, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Junction City. He died Oct. 21, 2003.
They farmed the Cherney Homestead in Milladore, which later was sold to their oldest son, Harvey.
In 1974, they moved to a home they built on Church Road in the town of Knowlton. That is when she started working for Del Monte Inc. in Plover. She retired after 26 years of service.
Survivors include five sons, Harvey (Pat), Blenker, LaVerne (Carol), Wisconsin Rapids, and Bruce, Dale and Keith, all of Mosinee; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis; two sisters, Hazel Adamski and Alberta Britten; and four brothers, Henry, Martin, William and Otto Johnson.
