Loren B. Lein, 80, Blue Earth, Minn., father of a Stevens Point woman, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Minn., with the Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating.
Visitation will be at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth, Minn., from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the services.
Memorials should be given to United Hands Hospice.

Mr. Lein was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Fairmont, Minn., a son of the late Oscar and Myrtle (Jacobson) Lein. He attended country school in Watson, Minn., and graduated from Montevideo High School.
He was married to Florence Jones in Benson, Minn., in 1953.
He entered the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
Following his service they returned to Watson to farm briefly before moving to Fairmont and then Blue Earth to work for the Minnesota Valley Breeders Association. He became a State Farm agent in Winnebago and then Blue Earth where he had an agency for 35 years.
He was an active community leader, serving as president of Jaycees, Kiwanis and Trinity Lutheran Church Council. He was elected to serve the Blue Earth City Council for 18 years and 8 of which he was mayor. In 1991 he was elected and served as a Faribault County commissioner for 16 years.
He had a 30-year avocation as an auctioneer. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, National Turkey Federation, National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 89, Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce, Lura Lake Sportsmen Club, Minnesota Cross Bow Association, and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Renae (James) Sheibley, Stevens Point; one son, David (Cindy Jo) Lein, Winnebago; one brother, Vernon (Connie) Lein, Boyd; one sister, Vera Hermanson, Bismarck, N.D.; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mavis Larson.
