Benedict L. “Ben” Schulist, 88, 4951 State Road 66, Stevens Point, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at his home, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. George Thayikuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the services. A Moose Ritual will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the parish rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name will be established at a later date.

Mr. Schulist was born Oct. 30, 1923, on the family farm in rural Portage County, a son of the late Matthew and Clara (Brychell) Schulist.
He was married to Gertrude Wroblewski on Nov. 13, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
He worked servicing vehicles at the DX station in Stevens Point. He then joined the staff at Pacelli High School and later worked at the YMCA, where he retired in 1989. After retirement he worked part-time at Courtesy Motors as a shuttle driver. He also worked at Country Woodworks, helping his son make hoof blocks.
Mr. Schulist was a longtime member of Moose Family Center 1572.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jerry (Rose Olson), Iola; two daughters, Judy (Bill) Nantell, Stevens Point, and Jayne (George) Matykowski, Sun Prairie; two brothers, Tony (Rita), Stevens Point, and Joseph (Joan), California; four sisters, Mary (Edwin) Gabor, Bevent, Sr. Patrice Schulist and Harriet (Francis) Wysocki, both of Custer, and Patricia (Antone) Dobrauc, Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ann (Robert) Omernick; and one brother, Dominic.
