Brian A. Schoonaert, 43, Plover, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at his home, following a battle with cancer and while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from noon to 1:45 p.m. Sunday. A reception will follow the service at Players’ Lounge in Stevens Point at 4 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial will be established.

Mr. Schoonaert was born March 19, 1969, in Michigan, a son of James and Marcia (Turley) Schoonaert. He grew up in Michigan. He received a bachelor’s degree from Truman State University and a master’s degree in wellness and gerontology from Ball State University.
He was married to Kelly Jean Fishbaugh on Feb. 24, 1996, in Bull Head City, Ariz.
The couple settled in Muncie, Ind., before moving to Plover in 2006. He worked at Northwest Journey while also being a stay-at-home father.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Zachery and Skyler; his parents, Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, David, Germany; and his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Turley.
