Anthony “Jack” Essex, 71, Wausau, a town of Bevent native, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his home, as a result of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau, with the Rev. William Grevatch officiating. Burial will be in St. Ladislaus Cemetery in Bevent.
Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. Thursday until the Mass.
Memorials should be given to St. Michael Catholic Church of Wausau or St. Ladislaus Catholic Church of Bevent.

Mr. Essex was born June 29, 1940, in the town of Bevent, a son of the late John M. and Helen (Inda) Essex. He graduated from Rosholt High School in 1958 and North Central Technical School in 1961 with a degree in accounting.
He had a career as an accountant and insurance agent before retiring early due to health issues.
He was married to Mary Rozmenoski on Sept. 3, 1960, in Bevent.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 248 and St. Michael Catholic Church. He volunteered at the Grand Theatre.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Gregory (Sara Froelich); two daughters, Laurie (Paul) Buss, Menomonee Falls, and Sara (Betsy Mulcahy) Essex, DeForest; one brother, Gerald (Christine), St. Francis; one sister, Phyllis (Norbert) Felhofer, Marshfield; his mother-in-law, Mayme Rozmenoski; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Heinen and Joan Braatz; and one brother, James.
