Veronica E. “Verona” Zimbauer, 97, Stevens Point, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials in her name will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Zimbauer was born July 6, 1914, in the town of Dewey, a daughter of the late Andrew and Cecelia (Hoffman) Helminiak. She attended school in the town of Dewey.
She was married to Edwin Check on Sept. 6, 1943. He died on Aug. 16, 1945.
She was married to Henry Zimbauer on May 26, 1951, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died on Dec. 31, 1995.
She was employed by the Weber Tackle Co. for 14 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Loretta Omernik, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, Harry Helminiak, Stevens Point; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, six sisters, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
