Thomas A. Hughes, 67, Plover, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shuda-Plover Funeral Home in Plover. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service.
A memorial will be set up in his name for the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Hughes was born May 10, 1944, in Madison. He graduated from Madison West High School and earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He moved to Plover and became the administrator of Tomorrows Children in Waupaca. He operated the center there until his retirement in 2000.
He was married to Sue Ellen Welton in 1988 in Stevens Point.
Survivors include his wife; three sons; Troy (Karen) Jahn, Camp Douglas, Todd, Greenville, S.C., and Scott, Tyler, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Thennisch, Stevens Point, and Cathleen Piotrowski, Madison; two stepsons, Keith Piotrowski and Chad (Shannon) Piotrowski, both of Stevens Point; two brothers, Gary (Dorothy) Hughes, Madison, and Edward (Lynn) Hughes, Stoughton; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
