Luz J. Mata, 79, the mother of four Portage County residents, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma, with the Rev. John Swing officiating.
Burial will be in Oasis Cemetery in the town of Oasis in Waushara County.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass.

Mrs. Mata was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Uvalde, Texas, a daughter of the late Camilo and Ascension (Rodriguez) Jimenez.
She was married to Encarnacion “John” Mata in 1947. He died on Oct. 5, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Frank, King, Ernie, Stevens Point, and Robert, Plover; five daughters, Irma (David) Luera, Ballinger, Texas, Diane Kramer, Plainfield, Sylvia (Neal) Tess, Stevens Point, Olga Maldonado, Plainfield, and Melva (Sergio) Rodriguez, Bancroft; two sisters, Mary Maldonado and Yolanda Ramirez, both of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter-in-law, Val Mata, Plainfield; 42 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Encarnacion “Joe”; three brothers; three sisters; and one son-in-law, Russel Kramer.
