Louise Mary Thompson, 84, a former Plover resident, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Home Place in Dorchester.
A private graveside service will take place later in the spring at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Mrs. Thompson was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Wausau, a daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy (Cooper) Gibbs. She attended high school in Wausau and Stevens Point, graduating from Wausau High School in 1946.
She was married to William R. Thompson on May 17, 1947, in Wausau. He preceded her in death.
They moved to Stevens Point in 1958.
She was a longtime member of the Town and Country Art League, through which she exhibited and sold many of her paintings. She and her husband spent many years attending craft fairs, selling her dolls and quilts.
Survivors include one son, William R. (Sandra) Thompson Jr., Waterford; one daughter, Laura (Bruce) Phillips, Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, Thomas (Jayne) Gibbs, Marshfield; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine.
