John C. Bandy, 80, father of an Amherst Junction man, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
Visitation services will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend. Burial with military honors will be in Washington County Memorial Park.

Mr. Bandy was born April 21, 1931, in Sheboygan, a son of the late Earl and Amelia (Lubach) Bandy. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Cherry Point, N.C.
He was married to Marian Walter on April 16, 1953, in New Bern, N.C. She preceded him in death.
After being honorably discharged, the couple settled in West Bend, where he worked at the Gehl Co. until his retirement in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Jack (Silvia), Reuggisburg, Switzerland, and Steve (Laurie), Amherst Junction; two daughters, Karen (Dave) Wery, Dickson, Tenn., and Debbie (Steve) Jacoby, Duluth, Minn.; one sister, Charlotte Youngblood, Chaska, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Patty Komar, Amherst Junction.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara; one brother, Joe Reif; and one sister, Esther Hadden.
