Jean E. Lange, 81, 1400 Sixth Ave., Stevens Point, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Dennis Lynch officiating. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
Memorial may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church or Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
Mrs. Lange was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Cecil and Maude (Howe) Murray. At a young age, her family settled in Stevens Point. She attended grade school in Plover and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1948.
She was married to Robert Sindorf in 1955. He died in January of 1982.
In earlier years, she worked as a secretary for various government agencies while living in Milwaukee and Racine.
She moved back to Stevens Point in 1985 and worked for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point until retiring in 1993.
She was married to Dr. Robert Lange on June 21,1997, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
For 16 years, she assisted with the Widow & Widower Social Group program, associated with Ministry Hospice.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Daniel (Beth) Sindorf, Guam, and David Sindorf, Fargo, N.D.; two brothers, William (Dorcas) Murray, Milwaukee, and Robert (Mildred) Murray, Oregon; two sisters, Janet (Gerald) Midbust and Kathleen Becker, both of Oregon; three grandchildren; and her husband’s extended family.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Murray.
