Charles E. “Charlie” Dins, 83, a former Stevens Point resident, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, as the result of a single-vehicle accident.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, with the Rev. Brian Belongia officiating.

Mr. Dins was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Menominee, a son of the late Elmer and Mary (Garber) Dins. He grew up in Appleton before his family relocated to Ashland.
He was married to Mary Jean Mattson on Feb. 12, 1949.
He joined his father in working for the Wisconsin Telephone Company at age 17 and worked there until his retirement in 1981. Over 35 years, he was transferred several times and the family lived in Ashland, Berlin, Appleton, New London, Stevens Point, Brookfield, Fond du Lac and Cedarburg.
He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles “Chuck”; one daughter, Kathryn (Kate); one daughter-in-law, Valerie LeGault; one brother, Jim (Delores); and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary.
