Alvon K. “Vonnie” Brandt, 73, Stevens Point, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with Chaplain Janet Jacoby officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point at a later date.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

Mrs. Brandt was born July 18, 1938, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Olaf and Wilma (Twamley) Hammerstad. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1956.
After high school, she worked for Hardware Mutual (now Sentry Insurance) as a typist and later became employed with the Sport Shop. She moved to Milwaukee where she found work as a stenograph typist.
She was married to Gerald Brandt on Aug. 21, 1962, in Naperville, Ill. He died in 2004.
She was employed at P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point as a secretary. She later worked for Preway and Del Monte.
Survivors include three sons, Mike, Nekoosa, Greg, Pueblo, Colo., and Brian (Lisa), Stevens Point; one daughter, Lori (Steve) Bartha, Weston, two sisters, Phyllis Mason, Nekoosa, and Bonita (Jim) Syms, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, Olaf (Donna) Hammerstad, Plover; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
