Richard E. Lutz, 74, Amherst Junction, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at his home, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services following a 3-1/2-month battle with kidney cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst, with the Rev. John Schmidt officiating.
Burial will be in Bickel Cemetery in the town of Amherst.
Visitation will be at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 19, and at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, until the service.
A memorial has been established in his name.

Mr. Lutz was born Aug. 14, 1937, in the town of Amherst, a son of the late Leo and Florence (Pohl) Lutz.
He was married to Olivia Wolkenhauer on May 16, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett.
He was a dairy farmer in the Amherst area.
He served as treasurer for the town of Amherst and was a member of the Pure Milk Board. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst and served in various positions at the church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen (Wally) Shulfer, Amherst, and Rhonda (Darin) Hurt, Chippewa Falls; one son, Wayne (Becky), Amherst Junction; one sister, Margery (Paul) Stone, Oregon, Wis.; two brothers, Alvin (Shirley), Amherst, and Gary (Marjorie), Amherst Junction; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
